What a full-time minimum wage worker pays
A full-time worker on €14.15 an hour for 39 hours earns €28,696 a year. Their tax credits cancel nearly all their income tax, so most of the deductions are USC (€393.74) and PRSI (€1,248.28). Take-home pay is €25,315 a year.
The 2% USC band was raised to €28,700 in Budget 2026 and to €30,300 in Budget 2027 so that full-time minimum wage earners stay out of the 3% band.
